Does Secursus cover porch theft?

Cover ends when the carrier's tracking marks the package delivered, so theft after the delivery scan is not covered. Separately, if you agree to delivery without signature or to an unsecured spot, the most Secursus pays is $200; if the carrier skips the signature through its own negligence, cover stays valid.

“Coverage ends when the Package is marked as delivered by the Carrier's tracking system.”

Jewelry, watches, laptops, and phones

Jewelry, pearls, precious stones, watches, collector coins, art and high-tech items are listed as covered, but only up to $200 per package unless shipped with adult or direct signature. Pure precious metals, banknotes and checks are excluded.

Payment time

The wording we reviewed does not state when claims are paid.

What we couldn't confirm

  • No insurer-issued policy, schedule or certificate is public.
  • The actual risk-bearing insurance company is not named in any held document.
  • No dated editions, so changes over time cannot be tracked.
  • The terms name N2G Worldwide Insurance Services, LLC as "the insurance company", but N2G calls itself a managing general agent. Our review did not establish which insurer actually bears the risk.
  • The FAQ price ($2 minimum below $715) does not add up: 1% of $715 is $7.15. The terms say the real-time price is shown on the website before purchase.
  • The terms say cover ends on "Delivery to the Recipient against receipt" (Art.5.1) and elsewhere when the package is "marked as delivered" by tracking (Art.7.2). The two end points can differ.
  • Art.2 says individuals can insure second-hand goods, while Art.6.2 excludes items sold by individuals on online marketplaces unless approved in writing.
  • Art.4.2 lists leather goods and collector coins as covered, while Art.4.3 excludes "FURS, SKINS, LEATHERS" and the FAQ excludes "minted coins".
  • The packaging checklist says claims are due within 14 days and omits the 3-days-from-delivery limit in the terms; the terms are stricter.
  • The terms do not grant cover where they are silent: the terms cover items not on the exclusion list, and Canada, Japan and several other countries are covered for international shipments only.
  • Do not apply these US terms to Secursus UK or EU wording; those are separate programs.
